That’s right! You can actually see Her Majesty the Queen of England in the flesh, guaranteed. How can we make this promise?
Easy – every year for the last 50 years her majesty goes along to the races. Royal Ascot races to be precise – her majesty is known for her love of racing.
Ascot is a huge horse racing meeting that takes place over a 5 day period in June approximately 25 miles from the centre of London. It’s one of the main sporting highlights of the English summer sporting calendar. In 2010 the event will be held from the 15th till the 19th June and tickets for this event start from as little as £17. As her majesty travels down the course in a horse drawn carriage at the beginning of each day, you will be able to see her wherever you are sitting. You will also see her majesty when she is visiting the paddocks to look at the runners and often has one of her own horses in a race.
The 17th June is Ladies day, a special occasion when all the female visitors come in their finest clothes and wear the greatest (and sometimes strangest) hats imaginable. It’s a great day out for all the family and is usually attended by over 90,000 people, guaranteeing a fantastic atmosphere throughout the event.
