Top 10 sporting events in London for January 2017

2017 has begun and the sport in London is in full swing. The soccer season is about halfway through, so all the teams at the top will be playing to win the league and those at the bottom will be trying to avoid relegation. With Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham all currently holding the top five positions, it is fairly safe to say that one of these will come out victors at the end of the season, the rest will want to qualify for the Champions League.So lots to lay for.

No. 1. 1st January 2017 ” Premier League Arsenal v Crystal Palace” at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal are flying at the moment can Crystal Palace surprise Arsenal with an away victory. Kick-off 16.00 p.m.

No. 2. 2nd January ” Premier League West Ham v Manchester United” at the London Stadium. Can Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United get an away win or will West Ham take the points. Whatever happens this will be a great game to watch. Kick-off 17.15 p.m.

No. 3. 4th January 2017 “Premier League Tottenham Hotspurs v Chelsea” at White Hart Lane. Two of the best London teams in the Premiership fighting it out in this very competitive London derby. Kick-off 20.00 p.m.

No.4. 6th January 2017 ” FA Cup West Ham v Manchester City” at London Stadium. A Third round cup match between two teams who will both be seeking cup glory and go on to the next round. Kick-off 19.55 p.m.

No.5. 8th January 2017 “F.A. Cup Tottenham v Aston Villa” at White Hart Lane. This is a third round match between two old rivals. Spurs have the home advantage and at the moment are in the top five teams in the Premiership, so on paper should win, but this is a cup game and anything can happen, both teams will want to progress to the next round. Can Aston Villa produce a magic performance and get a win or will Spurs steam ahead. either way this should be an exciting game. Kick-off is at 16.00 p.m.

No.6. 12th January 2017 “NBA Global Games London” at The O2. NBA Regular Season Basketball returns to London as the Denver Nuggets face the Indiana Pacers on the court.

No.7. 14th January 2017 “Premier League West Ham v Crystal Palace” at London Stadium. Another London derby both teams fairly evenly matched so this game can go either way. Kick-off 15.00 p.m.

No.8. 15th to 22nd January 2017 “Dafanet Masters Snooker Tournament” at Alexander Palace. This is one of snooker’s most prestigious invitation tournament. It has a rich history dating back to 1975 and it is considered one of the sport’s Triple Crown events, alongside the World Championship and the UK Championship. Only the elite top 16 players are invited to compete for the famous trophy and a top prize of £200,000. Tickets: £7 to £290.25.

No.10. 31st January 2017 “Premier League Arsenal v Watford” at the Emirates Stadium. A match that could come up with a few surprises. Kick-off 19.45 p.m.
