Top 10 sporting events in London for October 2018

Lots to see this month. The Yanks are coming. NFL returns to London with three games at Wembley. Plus lot of Premiership Soccer and the top game of the month , Champions League football featuring Spurs v Barcelona at Wembley. No. 1.   3rd October 2018 “Champions League Tottenham Hotspurs v Barcelona” at Wembley Stadium.

This will be one of Spurs hardest game in the competion. The one thing in Spurs advantage is it is at Wembley, so their will be plenty of local home support, and they will need all the help they can get, as Barcelona will be one of the favorite teams to win the whole competion. Spurs have Kane, Ali, Trippier, Eriksen, Lloris, etc and Barcelona have Messi, Suarez, Rakitic, Rafinha, Coutinhon, etc. Who has the stronger squad? On paper, probably Barcelona, but on the day any one can win. Kickoff is 20.00 pm .

No. 2. 7th October 2018 “Premier League Football Fulham v Arsenal’ at Craven Cottage.

Another London derby. Arsenal and Fulham are currently playing some good football and are playing at similar levels so maybe by October one of them may have found a winning streak and give themselves more of a momentum that will help them get the win. Kickoff is at 12.00 pm.

No.4. 14th October 2018 “NFL Oakland Raiders v Seattle Seahawks” at Wembley Stadium.

Oakland Raiders, who are the designated home for this fixture, return to London for the first time since their 2016 defeat of the Houston Texans. Known for their three Super Bowl victories in just seven years during the 1970s and 80s, the Raiders will have star quarterback Derek Carr and wide receiver Amari Cooper to rely on in London.

It’s the first London showing for Seattle Seahawks, and it also marks the first time the west coast outfit have played a regular season fixture overseas. Founded in 1976, the Seahawks won the Super Bowl in 2014 and are known for their vociferous support. Can this be enough to give them the edge in London? Tickets: £41 to £156.

No.5. 20th October 2018 “Premier League Football West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspurs” at the London Stadium.

A London derby. West Ham are at the bottom of the Premiership, can they change their fortune and get on a winning streak. Spurs so far this season have shown a promising start and are in the top 6. So unless things change Tottenham look the most likely to take the points. Kickoff is at 15.00 pm.

No.6.   20th October 2018 “ Premier League Football Chelsea v Manchester United. At Stamford Bridge.

A big game for both teams, with Mourinho back at his old teams ground. Both clubs will expect a win. On current form Chelsea will be favourites, but don’t right of United, Jose will definitely expect his team to raise their game and take the points. Kickoff is at 12.30 pm.

No.7. 21st October 2018 “NFL Tennessee Titans v Los Angeles Chargers” at Wembley Stadium.

The Titans had a successful 2017 season, winning their first play-off game since 2003. With key players Marcus Mariota (quarterback) and DeMarco Murray (running back) leading the on-field action and new head coach, Mike Vrabel, orchestrating form the side-line, the Titans are looking to make their mark in London.

The Chargers, on the other hand, are keen to take the spoils as the designated home team. Formerly based in San Diego, the Californians relocated to Los Angeles at the start of the 2017 season. Can they take the victory back to their new home? Tickets: £41 to £156.

Welcome the Jacksonville Jaguars back to London or cheer on recently crowned Super Bowl winners Philadelphia Eagles in this exciting NFL game.

All eyes are on this enticing encounter as the Jaguars look to build on their success in beating the Baltimore Ravens in London last year, while the Eagles aim to follow up a phenomenal 2017 season with a win in their first regular season fixture held overseas.

No.10.   29th October 2018 “Premier League Football Tottenham Hotspurs v Manchester City” at Wembley Stadium.

Spurs take on the current Premiership Champions, and so far City have started the way they won the league. Now Tottenham aren’t a bad team, but have they got the quality to get something out of this game? Well with Harry Kane in your team anything is possible. Kickoff is at 20.00 pm.
