What’s on in London for March 2011

London Transfers March 2011Hopefully the cold weather is behind us and spring is just a few weeks away, so now is a great time to travel around London and see all the special events that will be taking place this month. Listed below are our top ten of what is happening this month, there is something here for everyone.

No. 1.   March 1st Chelsea football club play Manchester United at there Stanford bridge ground. With Manchester top of the Premiership and Chelsea still trying to keep in the top four of the division this game is all to play for. For tickets check out the Chelsea FC web site.

No 2.     March 2nd Arsenal football club have an FA cup 5th round replay with London’s Leyton Orient. The first game ended with one all draw, earning Orient this fantastic replay with Premier division Arsenal . They also earned a holiday to Las Vegas from their Chairman for achieving this replay With a chance to play Manchester United in the next round, both clubs have a lot to play for. No 3.  March 2nd.  Sees the opening of Andrew Lloyds Webber production of

“The Wizard of Oz” which will be staged at the world famous London Palladium, till the 17th September. Featuring all the music from the original movie. Tickets are available at the theatre box office. Prices are from £25 to £78

No. 4.   March 4th till 6th “Got to Dance Live 2011” will be held at the Excel Centre. This event is a celebration of all things dance, featuring, dance classes, performances, TV stars, entertainment and shopping. Great for all ages and each visitor will have the chance to improve their own dance skills, by taking part in a variety of dance classes as part of their day. Open from 10.00 am till 18.00 p.m.. Admission price is £20 for adults and £15 for Kids.

No.5.  March 8th . “Pancake Day” in London and the Great Spitalfields Pancake Race.

The Race being held at Spitalfield market will take place from 12.30 pm and starts at Dray walk, Old Truman Brewery, Brick lane E1. Lots of entertainment will be provided clowns, music, etc, and a great atmosphere for this fun eccentric event.

No. 6.   March 9th . Tottenham Hotspurs play AC Milan in their UEFA Champions League match at Whitehart lane.  With Spurs winning the first leg in Milan 0-1, Milan will go all out to win, can Spurs beat the current title holders? There is still all to play for. For tickets call the Tottenham box office.

No.7.   March 10th till 13th “The La Dolce Vita show” is being held at the Business design Centre in Islington.

This event brings Italy to London. All the food and wine of the regions of Italy along with stunning Hotels and properties available to choose from when you next visit Italy.

Tickets cost £7 on the door or £5 if pre booked.

No.8.  March 11th till 27th “Londons Ideal Home show 2011”.

This annual event returns to the capital, held at Earls Court Exhibition Centre. With ideas for the home and Garden. This event is always a great day out.

Entry is £16 to £18 depending on the day.

Open till 18.00 p.m. each day and open till 21.00 on Thursdays.

N0. 9.   March 11th till 13th.  “A Place in the Sun” being held at Earls Court

This show is all about oversees properties, buying, renting, etc . With over 100 exhibitors to choose from, if you are interested in looking abroad for property this show is for you.

Admission is £10

No.10.   March 17th. Is “St Patricks Day”.

A big parade featuring marching bands from all 32 Irish counties, will take place at 12.00 p.m. from Piccadilly through Central London, Trafalgar Square and finishing at Whitehall Palace.

There will also be many parties being held all week, all over London celebrating this traditional Irish occasion. See evening papers for details.
