What’s on in London for November 2011

Christmas is next month and some of the festive events are starting now in November.

We have selected what we think are some of the best and most interesting events taking place in London over the next few weeks. There is something for everyone so have a look and I am sure you will find something that catches your eye.

No. 1.   2nd till 6th November “Spirit of Christmas Fair 11”, taking place at Olympia.

If you are looking for idea for presents this Christmas then this is the place to come. With over 600 of specially selected company stands  to choose from you are bound to find quality gifts, inspiration and variety of products to suit everyone.

No. 2.   4th November “Tinie Tempah “will be at the O2 centre.

This award winning English Rapper   is on his first UK arena tour. Already a two times Brit award winner Tinie will be performing all his hits and other tracks from his debut album “Disc-Overy”.

No. 3.  5th November is Bonfire Night, or as it is known in the UK as “Guy Fawkes Night”. This is the night when all Brits celebrate the 1605 Gun powder plot. This is When Guy Fawkes and his fellow conspirator’s attempted to blow up the houses of Parliament. The plot was foiled and Fawkes and his accomplice’s where captured and later executed. Today all Brits will mark the occasion with Fireworks displays all over the country. The Mayor of London has arranged for a massive display on the Thames.  Over half a ton of Fireworks are set to go off and light up the Town.

No. 4. 5th November “Regent Street Motor Show”  from 10.30 a.m. till 16.00 p.m. .

London’s Regent Street will close to traffic and turn into the wold’s largest free Motor show. There will be a stage with live dancing and interviews with various celebrities.

No.5.  12th November  “The Lord Mayors Show 2011” This  is a premier major annual event in London. With over 6,00  people participating and over 140 elaborately decorated floats and of course not forgetting the ornately gilded State Coach carrying the Lord mayor himself. This is a parade not to be missed. Winding its way through the streets of London. The show starts at 11.00 a.m. and makes its way from Mansion House in the city to Victoria embankment. The parade is both exciting,colourful , musical and definitely should not be missed .

No. 6.   16th till 20th November “Ideal Home Show at Christmas” held at Earls Court.

This is the Christmas version of the famous Ideal Home Show which is normally held in April. This show will include inspirational ideas on Home improvements, Interiors, Electronic Technology, Food, Women’s and Men’s fashion, Gadgets and of course Toys . The 100’s of stands will all have a Christmas slant to them so should give you some great ideas for Christmas.  Entrance is £11 -£18 and opening time is

10.00-18.00 and on Thursday 10.00- 21.00

No.7.  18th November  till 3rd January  “Hyde Park Winter Wonderland”. Held in Hyde Park, this event has become a London Christmas must. This show is a Christmas styled Theme park. With fairground ride attractions from all over Europe, a Circus, an Ice rink , a Christmas Market, Food stools , Beer Garden, A Santa Land and this year is the special Cirque Extreme. This is a jaw dropping daredevil show with acts like the Motorbike globe of death, a high wire and trapeze act and the death defying Wheel of Death. There are also loads more at this fantastic event, and best of all entrance is free.

The event opens daily (closed Christmas day ) from 10.00 till 22.00.

No.8   19th November till 8th January “Tower of London Ice rink” Located at the famous Tower of London. Held in the Moat of the Tower. This is rink is set in a magical setting for a winter skate. Open from 10.00 a.m. till 2200 p.m.

Cost is Adults £12, Child £8 off peak and Adult £12.50 and Childs £8.50 Peak.

No. 9.   24th till 27th November “Top Gear Live 2011” held at the Excel Centre.

This famous BBC TV show goes live. Featuring a special 75 minute show, plus loads of exhibitors selling every kind of motor accessory known to man. If you are into cars then this is the show for you.

No.10   30th November till 4th December “AEGON  Masters Tennis” Held at the Royal Albert Hall. This is a tournament with the very best of the world’s greatest ex Grand Slam champions. Players such as Pete Sampras, John McEnroe, Pat Rafter, Goran Ivanisevic, and our own Tim Henman will be strutting their stuff to show who is the best is this very competitive completion. Tickets are from £17.50 and are available at the door or can be pre booked.
