What’s on in London this February?

seatsIf you are thinking of coming to London next month then here are a few events that are certainly worth a look.

There’s London Fashion weekend, which takes place at Somerset House in Central London from the 25th till the 28th February. This a continuation of London fashion week which is open exclusively to the fashion trade from the 18th February to the 24th and shows the best of UK fashion design for Spring/Summer 2010.

London Fashion weekend is open to the public and will see more than 140 designers offering discounts on all their ranges. Many of the designers man their own stalls so you will have the chance to meet them in person. There will also be catwalk shows, and beauty tips from leading experts.

For sport fans, the Rugby Six Nations Championship starts from the 6th February – this is a tournament between England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France and Italy. England will take on Wales at Twickenham Stadium on the 6th February, and if you can’t make that then you can see England vs. Ireland at Twickenham on the 27th. Tickets are available to purchase online.

As for soccer, The Carling Cup final between Manchester United and Aston Villa is to be played at Wembley on the 28th February. This should be a tense match with two big Premiership teams fighting it out to take the honours. A great family day out and with a 90,000 capacity the stadiums atmosphere will be truly electric.

The sport of Kings. Horse racing is another brilliant sporting event, and on the 6th February at Sandown Park race course, which is just 40 minutes from the centre of London, there will be a full days racing . A fantastic day out whether you have a bet or just go for the spectacle.

Also just started is the ABBAWORLD show, taking place at London’s Earls Court. If you love Abba this is a chance to see all of their outfits, along with exclusive film footage, never shown before to the public and many interactive activities to get you in the Abba mood. The event takes place in 25 rooms, carefully laid out to provide a realistic Abba experience. The show is on till February 10th and starts from 10.00a.m. every day.
