What’s on in London for February 2012

London Transfers March 2011If you are coming to London this month then  there are lots of things to do for everyone. We have selected a real varied selection of shows, sporting events, music concerts and a few one off events that are happening in and around London. So look below to see if anything catches your interest and have a great time.

No 1.   February 2nd  till 5th February  “Destinations London” held at Earls Court Exhibition Centre. The show is dedicated to finding you your ultimate holiday. Lots of exhibitors will be present showing you different types of holidays and resorts that hopefully will give you some ideas for your next vacation break.

Cost is £10 advance booking or £12 at the door.

No 2.  February 4th till the 29th September “Singin In the Rain” will be performing at the Palace Theatre. A new stage production of the famous musical film starring Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds . No famous names will be featured in this production, but the show has already been performing successfully in Chichester and is now transferring to the West End stage.

No. 3.   February7th   till 28th October “ The Wizard of Oz” at the London Palladium. This stage show of the famous Judy Garland movie will be performing with the winner of the BBC talent show “Over the Rainbow” This was a show to pick an actress to play the lead part of Dorothy. The winner of the show Danielle Hope will be taking to the stage in this new exciting production.

No. 4.   The famous American comedian “Jackie Mason” comes to London, for what he says is the last time in his new “Fearless “show at the Wyndhams Theatre from 13th  February till 17th March. Jackie, who is famous for his New York Jewish humour will have you laughing the night away with his views and his observations on life. Not to be missed. Tickets from the Box office £20 to £75

No.5 .   “Valentine’s Day”  14th February. Lots of Restaurants, West end shows, and cosy pubs. The choice is yours. No.6   February 19th   ex Pussy Cat Doll “Nicole Scherzinger” is performing solo at the Apollo Hamersmith. Since going solo Nicole has had a number one with “Don’t Hold Your Breath” and her album “Killer Love” also got into the chart’s. Her current appearances as a Judge on the American version of X-Factor have also boosted her popularity. This is only one of a total of three live performances she plans to do, so don’t miss out.

N0. 7 .   21st February “Pancake Day Race”   Taking place at The Dray Walk Gallery, at the Old Trumans Brewery near Brick Lane in Shoreditch. Get in training for Shrove Tuesday and join in the Great Spitalfields Pancake Race. Come and see the teams run and toss there Pancakes along the allocated route. The final winner will get a beautifully engraved frying pan. See the evening news paper for other pancake day events around London.

 No.8.    21st February “The Brit awards 2012” being held at the O2 centre. If you a fan off British Pop music this is the place to be. This is the UK’s music industries answer to the Oscars. The awards are presented to the best British music acts of 2012. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the Box office.

No.9.     23rd February till the 26th February  “London Fashion Weekend” at Somerset House. This is a special treat for all you clothes, bags and shoe lovers. This show follows on from London’s Fashion Week. Come and experience a shopping mecca for the trendy dresser and have the chance to purchase all the latest Hair, fashion, and beauty ranges from all the hottest brands. Designers will include Jaegar, Pringle, Linda Farrow, Holly Fulton, James Long, Kat & Bee and loads more new and established labels.

No.10.   26th February  Premiership Football “ Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspurs” at the Emirates Stadium . This is a 1.30 p.m. Kickoff between two of the most entertaining teams in the Premiership. This is the game they call the real London derby. These two teams treat this game with a real competitive grudge, both want to win this match and Tottenham, (who in the past few years have always been the underdog) go in as potential favourites to win it. Tottenham are currently lying 3rd with a chance to win the league, and Arsenal are currently 5th , fighting to get a place in Europe for next season, they are 10 points behind Spurs and need the points a win would give them . This is a match not to miss get a ticket if you can.
